Parents & Citizens Association

The Norris Road State School Parents and Citizens Association is a voluntary, non-profit organisation affiliated directly with the school.

The P&C works with the Principal, providing income to the school through fundraising activities held throughout the year enabling them to assist the school in numerous projects.

Parental interest has a profound influence on children’s learning success. Joining the P&C is one of the best ways to show your children how much you value their education and how committed you are to helping our students and school community.

Parents must apply to become official members of the association to be able to vote at meetings. Application forms can be collected and lodged at the AGM or any monthly meeting.

Some of the activities that the NRSS P&C Association oversee are:
·         Provide Café / tuckshop facility
·         Provide uniform shop
·         Organise and supervise fundraising activities
·         Assist with uniform policy
·         Resource schemes
P&C general meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month in the Staff room, starting at 7:00pm. Parents/caregivers and other interested community members are warmly welcomed to these meetings and/or to become active members of the P&C association.
The P&C can be contacted through the school office or by email at pandc@norrroadss.eq.edu.au. Any feedback on events, past or coming, or fundraising suggestion are appreciated.  The current constitution for the association is available for download here.

Strategic intent

For the period 2015-16, the activities of the Norris Road State School P&C will focus on:
Thinking – supporting the school by contributing to additional learning programs, learning resources, and contemporary technologies.
Opportunities – assisting the school to create wider opportunities for students; and a safe and comfortable environment that allows and encourages them to develop in many ways - academically, physically, creatively, socially, and emotionally.
Partnerships – building and maintaining a strong relationship between the school and the community, including partnerships with individuals and organisations with complementary aims and principles.
Sustainability – enhancing the environmental, financial, and operational sustainability of the school, including the P&C operations.
The strategic intent of the P&C is clearly aimed at supporting the direction of the school and enhancing the learning opportunities for all students.
