Our decision was based on what as a staff we believe would be in the best educational interests of our students. We believe that through the earlier start we will be able to maximise the prime morning learning time when literacy and numeracy teaching is the focus. Parent surveys showed that 2/3 of the 180 respondents were in favour of the change. The timetable will be: 8:30am - 10:30am Morning Session 10:30am - 11:00am First Recess 11:00am - 1:00pm Middle Session 1:00pm - 1:40pm Second Recess 1:40pm - 2:30pm Afternoon Session The intensive focused teaching of Literacy and Numeracy will be in the two hour morning and middle sessions.
