The process to organise classes for 2010 has started. On our anticipated numbers, similar to this year, we are planning on again having twenty class teachers from PREP to Year Seven. As final staffing levels are not determined until day eight enrolment figures next year, all class arrangements and pupil placements are considered temporary until enrolments and staffing are confirmed. |

SCHOOL TIME CHANGE IN 2010 |

After a term of consultation with teaching staff, parents, (survey and P&C meetings) and schools who currently have an 8:30am start to their school day, the move to an 8:30am start from 2010 has been confirmed. Our decision was based on what as a staff we believe would be in the best educational interests of our students. We believe that through the earlier start we will be able to maximise the prime morning learning time when literacy and numeracy teaching is the focus.
Parent surveys showed that 2/3 of the 180 respondents were in favour of the change.
The timetable will be:
8:30am - 10:30am Morning Session
10:30am - 11:00am First Recess
11:00am - 1:00pm Middle Session
1:00pm - 1:40pm Second Recess
1:40pm - 2:30pm Afternoon Session
The intensive focused teaching of Literacy and Numeracy will be in the two hour morning and middle sessions.
The high level of participation and contributions of parents and staff in this consultative process was valued and appreciated.
